Guava Island is a American musical film directed by Hiro Murai with the screenplay being written by Stephen Glover. The film stars Donald Glover and Rihanna playing the lead roles of "Deni" and "Kofi". It was released on April 13, 2019 by Amazon Studios through Amazon Prime Video and was also streamed by on the livestream of Coachella.
Premise[]
A young musician/local celebrity named Deni Maroon has a dream of bringing his entire community together one day with the power of his music and seeks out the opportunity to do so when he decides to hold a music festival to help liberate the oppressed people of his home, Guava Island but his festival conflicts with the business interests of a "shady island tycoon" known as "Red Cargo".
